Shrublands Road // Berkhamsted
This scheme involved significant extensions and alterations to a large house in central Berkhamsted. An existing poorly designed extension was removed and replaced with a two storey side extension finished in red hanging tiles to contrast with the white painted brickwork of the original house. New timber windows were inserted throughout the house and oak frames were used to the rear bay windows. This allowed us to use full height oak framed glazing to the dining area which floods the space with natural light. The original roof was removed and replaced with a steeper, taller roof that provides two additional bedrooms with new dormers to the front and rear.
