Pond Cottage // Little Gaddesden

Pond Cottage is a Listed Building in Little Gaddesden which is located on The Green and commands attractive views towards Ashridge House. The earliest part of the house was built in the eighteenth century by Lord Brownlow of the Ashridge Estate and later served as the village butchers shop before being converted back to a house.

The house has been extended numerous times and we are looking to replace a dated conservatory with a sensitively designed family room that overlooks the attractive garden. We have worked closely with a Heritage Consultant to develop a design that complements the existing house without detracting from its historic elements. We have also consulted with the Local Authority Conservation Officer through the pre-application process.

The extension has been designed as a minimalist glass pavilion in the modernist tradition with a wildflower roof to enhance biodiversity.
