New Build House // Bovingdon

Hamilton Mead is the development of a one off house on a difficult infill site in Bovingdon. The narrow site was previously occupied by the garage of the adjacent house. This was demolished to create a two bed house which sits sensitively within the pattern of the existing varied terrace roof line.

The traditional brick house is elevated with the introduction of natural timber slatted design to the front elevation which conceals the cloakroom window and meter cupboards. The house was designed without a gas supply and heating and hot water is provided by an electric boiler. The running costs are offset by a generous array of PV panels to the rear roof.

Sargeant Architects were employed throughout the design stage and acted as Contract Administrator through the construction stage.
