A high quality new build house with some impressive sustainable features in an attractive part of the Buckinghamshire countryside. The project includes a ground source heat pump providing a highly efficient clean energy system for the heating and hot water. Mechanical ventilation with heat recovery provides a comfortable environment and additional efficient heating. We were also able to secure a separate planning approval for PV solar panels within the garden, with the result being battery storage for electric vehicle charging and low energy bills for the occupant.

The design include the use of brickwork with a brick plinth, splayed headers to windows and dentil courses to the roof. Additional reconstituted stone sills and window surrounds create bold features. To the rear the master bedroom opens onto a semi circular balcony area which looks down to a landscaped parterre.

Sargeant Architects worked closely with the developer, Frithsden Construction on the technical design and construction stages of the project based on a design and planning approval, secured by Berkeley and Brown.
